More travel tales with part 2 of my dream hotel list around Europe. Rounding up with Greece and Portugal in the Mediterranean, before we travel North, as we cast our minds to the snowy landscapes of the Nordics and Iceland.
Casa Mediterraneo, Kastellorizo
Anywhere that describes their hotel as the ‘promise of happiness’ will be on my list. I love the authentic, traditional feel to this place and that it’s settled upon a hill with beautiful views.
Kyrimai Hotel, Mani
Another historic (a greek theme) hotel, this time on Mani Island, where you stay so close to the sea one could imagine feeling the sea spray on their skin as they sleep. Situated right on the bay, Kyrimai is near the top of my list to stay for a low key Greek island escape.
Kapsaliana Village Hotel, Crete
An abandoned village transformed into an beautiful hotel of traditional Cretan architecture. Everything about Kapsaliana is dream list worthy - the wholesome food, chic accommodation and that it’s surrounded by nature.
Ktima Lemonies, Andros
A beautifully restored farm and stables, with rooms named after previous residences such as ‘piggies', this rustic guest-house is hidden amongst an oasis of olive trees, lemons and fragrant gardens. After seeing Lucy Williams get married here, I’ve wanted to stay.
Octant Hotel, Evora
A Portuguese country-side escape. Beautiful private villas within 11 hectares, where you can horse-ride, swim, walk and relax.
Sublime, Comporta
Long on my list, Sublime Comporta is a country retreat on the coast surrounded by long white beaches. Pristine rooms / apartments, organic food and a wellness spa make this special place, seem unforgettable.
Imani Country House, Alentejo
I love how this has a ‘real house’ feel to it - rustic, traditional and modern. Another country agricultural property, 1 hour from Lisbon, where you can escape realities and unwind.
Treehotel, Norrbotten Country
Oh to be this close to nature. one can only dream of sleeping within the tree tops and experience the magic that is the Norrland forest.
Arctic Bath, Norrbotten Country
Swedish Lapland in all its glory. snow drenched forests, starry nights and the Aurora Borealis lighting up the skies above. Cabins vary from the ‘floating hotel’ reached to by footpath over the water, the ‘suites’ with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the river and the ‘land’ cabins, for ultimate serenity.

Sustainability, craftsmanship and elegance perfectly describe this boutique hotel in Tegnérlunden park. Your perfect base for a weekend get-away in the city.
Hotel J, Stockholm
Stockholm not as you expect - a beautiful terracotta house between the city and the archipelago. Visit in the summer and enjoy the sea view under the sun, or the winter where you can sip coffee by the fire and cosy down in the stylish rooms.
Artic Treehouse Hotel, Rovaniemi + Olo Levi, Rovaniemi
Luxury comfort in the heart of Lapland. the above ‘hotels’ each have cosy rooms with panoramic views of the landscape and Northern Lights, all to be enjoyed from your bed.

Described as the ‘San Sebastián' of Finland, Porvoo is an idyllic artisan town and Runo hotel has been designed with comfort and aesthetics in mind - a neutral colour palette and natural materials. The perfect place to come back to after exploring the local delights.
Hotel Brosundet, Ã…lesund
The picturesque port town of Ålesund, on the west coast of Norway, may not be on most people’s Norway travel list, but it’s near the top of mine. As is this once warehouse for local fisheries, turned comforting hotel.
Henningsvaer Bryggehotell, Lofoten
Lofoten is an archipelago in Norway, known for its outstanding scenery, red hut houses and authentic fishing villages, where suite hotel Henningsvær Bryggehotell is at the heart. Here, you can experience the midnight sun in summer and the northern lights in winter, all while meandering through the small narrow streets and sipping coffee in the local shops.

Icelandic style paired with relaxed eco-luxury. Tranquility and peace come to mind when I explore Torfhus online - cosy wooden accommodation with views so vast over snow-capped mountains and volcanic plains. From spring and summer to autumn and winter, each season looks as magical as the other.
Deplar Farm, Troll Peninsula
A luxury lodge in the mountains of the Troll Peninsula and a former home to a drove of hardy Icelandic sheep. I love the traditional style and magical landscape here, plus the fact that rates include all food and 2 guide-led adventures a day, including whale watching.
